Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has suffered a major setback ahead of IPL 2026. The team’s fast bowler, Yash Dayal, will be unable to play this season. Although he remains under contract with the team, he will have to sit out the entire season due to personal reasons.

RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat, clarified that Yash Dayal will not be part of the squad this season. He explained that the player is currently dealing with a personal situation, and as a result, he will be unable to participate in IPL 2026.

Yash Dayal delivered a stellar performance in IPL 2025. By taking 13 wickets, he played a pivotal role in helping the team secure its maiden title. Consequently, his absence is being viewed as a significant blow to the team.
RCB’s Bowling Attack in IPL 2026
In Yash Dayal’s absence, RCB will now have to rely more heavily on bowlers such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. While the team does possess other fast-bowling options, maintaining the squad’s overall balance will prove to be a challenge.
