Cigarettes: The cost of cigarettes will get more costly from February as the prices are expected to jump after the Centre imposes an additional excise duty under the new tax regime. The finance ministry had recently introduced the duty from Rs 2,050 to Rs 8,500 per 1,000 cigarette sticks, depending on their length. This rise in price is likely to come on top of the 40% GST set to be levied on tobacco products next month.

Mobile Phone Components: According to reports, duty exemptions on a total of 28 items used in phone battery manufacturing will lead to a decline in prices for mobiles and accessories. (Image Credits: Pexels)

LED/LCD TVs: A decrease in duties is expected in the upcoming budget 2026 making TVs and other electronic items more affordable. (Image Credits: Pexels)

Medical equipment and life-saving drugs: Various medical devices and life-saving drugs are expected to benefit from reduced duties. (Image Credits: Pexels)
