Oman flash floods: Four people, including two Indian nationals from Kerala, were reportedly killed after their car was swept away in flash floods in Oman on Saturday.

As per reports, the victims were travelling in a vehicle when it was caught in a sudden flash flood in Oman’s Al Batinah Governorate. Four people, including two Indians, reportedly lost their lives in the incident, while another woman, Ramla, who also hails from Kerala, is missing.
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader V D Satheesan on Sunday sought the urgent intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting urgent steps by the Central government to urge Omani authorities to expedite search for the missing woman.

In his letter to the prime minister, Satheesan identified the deceased victims as Yusuf and Shamla, natives of Trithala in Kerala, while missing woman, Ramla, also hails from same town in the southern state.
“I write to you with deep concern regarding the tragic flash floods that struck Oman on Saturday, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving one woman from Kerala still missing,” the Congress leader wrote.
Satheesan urged the Centre to take immediate steps to coordinate with Omani authorities to expedite and strengthen the ongoing search and rescue operations, especially in view of the continuing heavy rains and flood risk in the region.
He also requested all possible assistance to ensure the safety of those affected and to support the families of the victims.
