The construction work of the Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh has been completed. Flight operations are expected to begin soon. Once flights start, Jewar Airport will become the fifth international airport in the state. This airport is expected to be a game-changer for the economy of the Noida and Greater Noida region. CM Yogi Adityanath’s advisor, Avnish Kumar Awasthi, shared the latest update on the airport construction and its upcoming inauguration.
What Did Avnish Awasthi Say?
Avnish Kumar Awasthi shared important information about the Jewar Airport on the social media platform X. Along with his post was a 3-minute 43-second video explaining details about the newly built airport. In his message, he said that the Noida International Airport in Jewar is ready for inauguration soon. After this announcement, speculation about the opening date has started.
CM Yogi Also Announced Inauguration Plans
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently visited Noida to review preparations for the airport construction. He instructed officials to complete the work quickly. After the Union Budget 2026, CM Yogi said during a press conference in Lucknow that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the airport in February.
YEIDA Official Confirmed Completion
The Additional CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, also confirmed that the airport construction is 100% complete. He said that security checks are in the final stage and the aerodrome license is expected to be issued soon. He also mentioned that CM Yogi has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration. Once the date is finalized, the inauguration ceremony and flight operations will begin.
Jewar Region to See Major Economic Growth
The airport has already accelerated development in the Jewar region. A major economic boom has been seen in the Yamuna Expressway area. Due to the airport project spread over around 3,000 acres, real estate prices in the region have increased up to 20 times. The impact is visible even up to Agra. Investment in industries and employment opportunities is rising rapidly.
Connectivity projects are also being developed alongside the airport, making the region a premium development zone.
