Selection Process
The TGCET entrance test is the gateway to prestigious residential schools across Telangana, including Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare, and BC Welfare Gurukuls. While results indicate merit, final admission depends on several conditions:
- Merit and Preferences: Seats are assigned based on the candidate’s rank and the school preferences selected during application.
- Reservation Rules: Admissions follow reservation norms for SC, ST, BC, Minority, and EWS categories.
- Provisional Nature: Selection in the entrance exam is provisional. Final admission is confirmed only after physical verification of documents.
Steps for Selected Candidates
Parents of provisionally selected students should prepare for the document verification process. Final admission requires submission and verification of original documents, including:
- Birth Certificate: Proof of age issued by a competent authority.
- Bonafide Certificate: From the previous school attended.
- Aadhaar Card: Copy as per Aadhaar Act, 2016, for admission purposes.
- Medical Fitness Certificate: Confirming the child’s health status.
- Category Certificates: SC/ST/BC/Minority/EWS, if applicable.
- Disability Certificate: If claiming PwD benefits.
Important: Parents should not apply for a Transfer Certificate (TC) from the current school until document verification is completed and admission is confirmed. Principals will also contact selected candidates via registered mobile numbers.
Admission Timeline
The entire admission process for the 2026-27 academic year is expected to conclude by August 31, 2026.
