The Union Budget 2026 has sparked widespread discussion and debate across the country. In an effort to provide clarity to its viewers, News24 organised ‘Budget Manthan 2026’, bringing together renowned academicians and political leaders to deliberate on the key provisions of the Budget and offer experts’ perspectives on its implications.
The event was attended by Faraz Kidwai, spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party. We sought the opposition’s perspective on whether the Budget reflects a capital-centric approach. He vehemently agreed. He further explored the employment sector and how schools have been shut down, and the promised internships were not given to the students. He said that he is utterly disappointed with the Union Budget 2026.
BJP spokesperson Ajay Alok, also present at the event, rebuked the opposition claim and said that India is the largest growing economy in the world. This budget focused on urban development, rural development, and a holistic economic boost. Development brings employment, he affirmed.
As opposing ideas were put on the table, the discussion was successful in providing a balanced perspective on the Budget’s implications. Through such discussions, ‘Budget Manthan 2026’ emphasized the need for constructive discussions in evaluating decisions that impact the country’s economic and social future.
