Roman Reigns joined an elite list of WWE superstars this past week at the 2026 edition of the Royal Rumble, as he won the event for a second time, and he looks to make his way back to being a World Champion.
Following his huge win, Triple H was asked about Roman’s next possible appearance, and he didn’t give a definite response on the post-show conference, so Roman’s appearance tonight was a welcome surprise for the fans.
Roman Reigns appeared in the main event of tonight’s show and spoke to the WWE Universe regarding who he should be choosing to face at WrestleMania 42.
CM Punk and Roman Reigns main-evented WWE RAW tonight
The Philadelphia crowd wanted Roman Reigns to choose CM Punk, and the World Heavyweight Champion walked down the ring to interrupt Roman. Punk addressed Finn Balor’s attack on him last week before turning his attention to Reigns.
Punk said that he knows Roman would choose the easy way out by picking Drew McIntyre, to which Reigns reminded him that he’s already beaten Drew on multiple occasions.
Punk called out Roman over his part-time status in WWE, following which Roman revealed his choice. Roman stated that he could pick CM Punk for various reasons, but he chose to pick Punk because he hates him, and at WrestleMania 42, he will make sure that Punk acknowledges Roman Reigns.
