Schools closed tomorrow, March 3: This year, Holi, the vibrant festival of colours, will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 4. However, many parents and students are confused about whether schools will be open or closed on Tuesday as festivities traditionally begin with Holika Dahan. While some states like Uttar Pradesh have already announced a three-day break, others, including Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Assam, will remain closed for one or more days.
Holi School Holiday state-wise list
- Uttar Pradesh: A school holiday has been announced across the state from March 2 to 4.
- Delhi, Haryana, Punjab: Schools will be closed on March 4 for Holi celebrations. A holiday has not yet been officially declared for tomorrow.
- Bihar and Jharkhand: According to the Education department lists, schools in these states are likely to observe a two-day holiday on March 3 and 4. An official confirmation is, however, awaited.
- Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh: Schools are likely to be closed on Tuesday to mark the occasion of Holika Dahan. Students are advised to check with their respective institutions for confirmation. A holiday has, however, been declared for March 4 for Holi celebrations.
- Assam: In Assam, Holi is observed as ‘Dol Jatra’ or ‘Daul Utsav’. School will remain closed across the state tomorrow, March 3. Authorities have, however, stated that dates may differ slightly in accordance with regional calendar calculations. Students and parents are advised to confirm the exact dates with their respective schools.
- Jammu-Kashmir: To ensure the safety of teachers and students amid restrictions across the Kashmir Valley, schools and colleges will remain closed in J&K for two days.
- Noida: Schools in Noida are likely to stay closed till March 4 and reopen afterwards. Students must reach out to their respective schools for exact dates as private schools may follow a different schedule.
- Ghaziabad: As per the instructions of the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS), schools in Ghaziabad will remain closed from March 2 to 5 for Holi celebrations.
