Residents across large parts of the national capital should brace for a temporary disruption in water supply this week. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has announced a 48-hour shutdown in several areas due to crucial infrastructure work at the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant.

The disruption will begin at 11 AM on February 25, 2026, and continue until 11 AM on February 27, 2026. During this period, water supply will remain affected in multiple colonies and villages across southwest Delhi, including key residential and commercial pockets.

Why Is There a Water Cut in Delhi?

In an official public notice posted on X, the Delhi Jal Board explained that the shutdown is necessary for technical upgrades.

The board is carrying out interconnection work involving a newly laid 1500 mm diameter twin raw water line, which will be connected to the existing 1500 mm twin raw water main in the Bhagya Vihar area at the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant.

According to the board, this large-scale engineering work requires a complete halt in water supply to ensure safe and seamless integration of the pipelines.
