Delhi travel alert: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Monday announced that metro services in the national capital will commence at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, March 4, on the occasion of Holi. The change in timings is applicable to all lines, including the Airport Express Line.

Here's what DMRC said

In a post on X, the DMRC said, "On the occasion of 'Holi,' Metro train services will start at 2:30 PM from terminal stations on all lines on 04th March, 2026 (Wednesday) and will continue normally thereafter."

When will normal services resume?

Delhi Metro services will resume usual operation from 2.30 pm at terminal stations on all lines. Passengers are advised to keep checking for real-time updates and plan their journey in advance. Those heading to or from the airport must note that early morning services will be temporarily suspended due to Holi. On normal days, the Delhi metro runs from 5 am to 11.30 pm IST.

When is Holika Dahan?

This year, Holi, the vibrant festival of colours, will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 4. However, many are confused about whether Holika Dahan will be observed on March 3 or not, as the festivities traditionally begin with it.

This year, Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 3, and Holi on March 4.
